On the disc are
highlights from his fifty years of music writing .
It is
titled after what he calls his "song for survival" and
set to a poem by John Greenleaf Whittier which begins,
The dark night is ending,
And dawn has begun
Rise hope of the ages,
Arise like the sun,
Rise hope of the ages,
Arise like the sun,
All speech flow to music,
All hearts beat as one!
This song was featured in his one act play,
"The Musical Telephone" (1988)
