Now available is a Listener's Guide with all the lyrics and notes for the 24 tracks on the CD available from the American Music Recordings Collection. The eBook also contains additional material such as: original sheet music illustrations and a Lincoln portrait gallery. Both the guide and CD are titled:

The story behind the best known Shaker song.
An illustrated eBook tells the background about the song and its composer, and titled: THE STORY OF SIMPLE GIFTS: Joseph Brackett's Shaker Dance Song. It includes biographical information about Joseph Brackett and chapters devoted to Aaron Copland's arrangements of "Simple Gifts," and "Lord of the Dance" by Sydney Carter.
A new piece by film composer John Williams
was based on the Shaker song. Titled, "Air and Simple Gifts,"
it was premiered
during the Inauguration Day ceremonies for
President Barrack H. Obama
on 20 January 2009.
